Here is how Piso WiFi works from the moment you spot the vendo: join its WiFi network, open the portal at 10.0.0.1, insert coins, click connect, and browse. Pause when you step away, resume when you return, and stop when you are done. This guide walks the whole session.
The 10.0.0.1 button works only while you are connected to a Piso WiFi network.
A Piso WiFi session is one paid block of internet time on a coin vendo. You join the machine's WiFi network, open the portal at 10.0.0.1, insert coins, and click connect to start the timer. The vendo tracks your minutes by your phone's network address.
A vendo is a small coin-operated box with a router inside, usually running LPB, AdoPiSoft, PisoFi or JuanFi software. The router shares one internet line and sells it in timed blocks. Your session is the record the machine keeps: your device address, your remaining minutes, and a countdown timer. That record is how Piso WiFi works under the hood.
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Find | Your phone lists the vendo's WiFi network nearby |
| Connect | Join the network; the portal loads at 10.0.0.1 |
| Pay | Insert coins or a voucher; minutes are credited |
| Browse | Click Go Online; the countdown runs |
| Pause | Freeze the timer; resume later from the same device |
| Stop | End the session; leftover time is lost unless paused |
New to the concept? Our Piso WiFi basics page explains the machine, the portal and the timer in plain terms. Owners who want to set up their own vendo can read the home business guide for the other side of the counter.
Look for the machine's network name in your phone's WiFi settings. Names often include LPB Piso WiFi, Ado Piso WiFi, or the store's own name. Tap it to connect, then turn off mobile data so your phone does not skip the portal page.
Machines sit outside sari-sari stores, computer shops, terminals and waiting sheds, and the network name is usually printed on the box. The network is open, so no WiFi password is needed to join. On a laptop, click Piso WiFi in the available-networks list, then click Connect.
Once you tap the name, your phone may show "Connected, no internet". That is normal: the machine blocks the internet until you pay. Now open a browser and type http://10.0.0.1 in the address bar, with mobile data turned off.
Open the portal at 10.0.0.1 and tap Insert Coin, then drop ₱1, ₱5 or ₱10 coins into the slot before the on-screen countdown ends. The portal credits matching minutes at the owner's rate, often 5 to 15 minutes per peso. Vouchers work instead of coins.
The coin slot takes ₱1, ₱5 and ₱10 coins on most machines. Tap Insert Coin on the portal first, then drop your coins before the short on-screen countdown ends. The portal shows your credited minutes right away, so you can see exactly what you bought.
Rates are set by the owner and printed on the machine or the portal. A common rate is 5 to 15 minutes per peso, so ₱5 buys 25 to 75 minutes. Use our calculator to work out your minutes per peso before you drop coins. If coins are a hassle, ask at the counter: voucher codes work instead.
| Payment | What you get |
|---|---|
| ₱1 coin | 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the owner's rate |
| ₱5 coin | Five times the ₱1 minutes |
| ₱10 coin | Ten times the ₱1 minutes |
| Voucher code | Fixed minutes, typed into the portal box |
Once your coins are credited, click Piso WiFi's Go Online, Connect, or Start Internet button on the portal. That click tells the router to open the internet for your device and starts the countdown. Browse from there; the timer keeps running while you are online.
Here is the full walkthrough, one step at a time:
Open WiFi settings, tap the vendo's network name, and wait for the connection.
Switch off mobile data so the portal loads instead of your carrier's page.
Type http://10.0.0.1 in your browser's address bar and press Go.
On the portal, tap Insert Coin. LPB machines may label the button Insert Money.
Feed ₱1, ₱5 or ₱10 coins into the slot before the on-screen countdown ends.
Tap Go Online, Connect, or Start Internet once your credited minutes appear on screen.
Use the internet as usual. The timer counts down only while you are online.
That click is the moment your session truly begins: the router links your device address to your paid minutes and opens the gate. From here, how Piso WiFi works is simple: the countdown runs, and the portal always shows the time you have left. If nothing happens after you click Piso WiFi, reload the portal and confirm your minutes show before tapping again. Every label is explained in our tour of the portal buttons.
To stop Piso WiFi, open the portal at 10.0.0.1 and look for a Stop, Disconnect, or Logout button; not every portal has one. If yours does not, turn off your WiFi or walk out of range. Unused minutes stay saved only if you paused first.
Pausing and stopping do different jobs. Pausing freezes the timer and saves your minutes for later, which is why most users pause rather than stop Piso WiFi outright. Stopping ends the session, and any unpaused minutes are gone for good.
To stop Piso WiFi from the portal, tap the Stop, Disconnect or Logout button if your portal shows one. Otherwise, turn off WiFi on your phone or walk out of range, and the session dies on its own. Resume only works from the same device you started on. Our guide to pausing a session walks through the Pause and Resume buttons in detail.
The timer hits zero and the machine cuts your internet at once. The portal shows the session as expired, and you must insert more coins or a voucher to start a new one. Your old session cannot be reopened; each payment starts fresh.
Behind the scenes, the vendo's small computer board tracks your session by your phone's network address and counts down in its own database. When the last minute ends, the router blocks your device again instantly. No warning popup is guaranteed, so watch the portal timer.
A finished session cannot be reopened, so insert more coins to start a new one. The board ties your minutes to one device: switching phones, or changing your phone's private WiFi address, orphans the leftover time because the machine no longer recognises you. That device matching is how Piso WiFi works on every brand: LPB, AdoPiSoft, PisoFi and JuanFi all tie the session to one device.
Every fact here comes from public sources: LPB's own operator guide, the PisoFi operator guide, TP-Link Philippines' Piso WiFi pause-time guide, and independent portal guides. Each one is linked below so you can check it.
These six answers cover finding the network, paying with coins, clicking connect on the portal, pausing to save minutes, stopping when you are done, and how Piso WiFi works when the timer hits zero on your session.
No. There is no account, no login and no app to install. The machine recognises your phone by its network address, so you just connect, pay and browse.
The owner's rate sets the price, but a common rate is 5 to 15 minutes per peso. At 10 minutes per peso, one hour costs 6 pesos. Check the price sticker on the machine before you insert coins.
Usually not. Most machines expire a paused session within hours, and a few clear it at midnight or on reboot. Treat paused minutes as same-day credit and resume the same day.
Turn off mobile data first, then type http://10.0.0.1 by hand in the address bar. The portal lives inside the vendo, not on the internet, so it loads even when the machine's own line is down.
No. The machine ties the session to one device's network address. A second phone must pay for its own session, even on the same vendo.
Open the portal and tap Stop or Disconnect if the button exists; otherwise turn off your WiFi. Because Piso WiFi is prepaid, it cannot charge you beyond the coins you already inserted.
Open the portal and try pausing your time, or fix a session that will not start.
